“How are our firms using GenAI and how is it impacting their services to our business — and more importantly, their cost?” 

It’s a question we’ve been asked repeatedly by our clients and prospects as we all navigate this whirlwind of innovation and change in the marketplace. 

So we thought to ourselves: 

We might not have all the answers, but we sure as heck have the platform to find them!

So we used it.  

Between November and December of 2023, we queried all firms on the PERSUIT platform about their utilization, strategy, and outlook on GenAI. 

Now the results are in. 

One of the spiciest findings of our 2024 State of Generative AI In Legal survey report is that GenAI use is already pervasive across law firms. 

In the Global 100, 53% of firms report they are using GenAI for billable work RIGHT NOW. And another 40% report they are planning to do so within the next 6 months (only 3-4 months by the time we’ve published the results).  

So my question to corporate legal teams is this:

How are your firms passing on the value of those new efficiencies to you? 

Firms are already fast at work strategizing how GenAI will enable a new service delivery model and lines of profitability.
